ASBIS Supports Athens Philharmonic International Peace Concert 2026 in Cyprus

ASBIS Supports Athens Philharmonic International Peace Concert 2026 in Cyprus

ASBIS Group supported the Athens Philharmonic International Peace Concert 2026, a landmark cultural event presented from Platres, Cyprus, on Europe Day, May 9, 2026. Held under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2026, the concert was hosted by the American Medical Center, the concert’s Principal Supporting Partner, and presented by Bang & Olufsen, with ASBIS joining the initiative as an Official Supporting Partner.

The Athens Philharmonic presented the event in partnership with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in the context of its international broadcast production and distribution through the EBU network. Set in the forest of Platres, a place of rare natural beauty and cultural resonance, the concert carried a message of peace from Cyprus to the world.

For ASBIS, supporting the concert was more than participation in a cultural event. It reflected the company’s belief that international business is also built on human connection, trust, and shared values. As a group operating across regions and cultures, ASBIS has always connected technologies, partners, markets and communities. This evening added another dimension to that mission: connection through culture.

The programme of the concert carried a powerful symbolic message. The Athens Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir performed under the musical and artistic direction of Maestro Yiannis Hadjiloizou, with the participation of more than 150 world-class artists from across Europe. One of the central moments of the evening was Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 “Choral”. Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” became the emotional centre of the evening, delivering a universal message of peace and unity among people.

There are moments when music speaks more powerfully than words. The Athens Philharmonic International Peace Concert was one of them. For ASBIS, it was an honor to support an initiative that brings people together around culture, peace, and shared human values. As an international company, we believe that true connection is built not only through technology and business, but also through the ideas and experiences that unite people,” said Siarhei Kostevitch, Chairman and CEO of ASBIS Group

Presented by Bang & Olufsen, the event created a natural connection between music, design, and the emotional power of sound. For a brand built around acoustic excellence, craftsmanship and timeless aesthetics, the concert became a meaningful cultural setting where sound was not only heard, but felt as part of a larger human message.

As part of the event experience, selected Bang & Olufsen audio products were presented at the venue, allowing guests to engage with the brand beyond the concert performance. The presence of Bang & Olufsen naturally complemented the evening’s focus on sound, emotion, and design.

Music has the unique ability to bring people closer, even when words are not enough. For Bang & Olufsen, sound has always been more than technology — it is emotion, craftsmanship and a way to create unforgettable human experiences. Supporting the Athens Philharmonic International Peace Concert was a natural continuation of what the brand stands for: the power of sound to move people and connect them through beauty, culture and shared moments,” said Jordi Gimenez, Market Director, Growth & Expansion Markets at Bang & Olufsen.

The concert was streamed live in Cyprus via AlphaNews.Live, with a televised broadcast by Alpha TV Cyprus scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. In addition, EBU member broadcasters received the recorded audiovisual material and have the opportunity to broadcast the concert between May 9 and June 9, 2026. Through this international distribution, images from Cyprus may reach audiences across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East, with access to a potential global audience exceeding one billion viewers.

The event was attended by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Neophytos Charalambides, who represented the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides. Also in attendance were the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr George Savvides, the British High Commissioner to Cyprus, H.E. Mr Michael Tatham CMG, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Cyprus, H.E. Mr Mohamed Zaazou, the Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus, H.E. Mr Konstantinos Kollias.

The evening in Platres became a reminder that culture can build bridges where words are sometimes not enough. Through support of the concert, ASBIS reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that bring people, ideas and communities together — across countries, industries and generations.
