LSI Logic Corporation will expand its Fibre Channel family of host bus adapters (HBAs) with the introduction of a fully supported PCI Express™ 1.0a specification. The 2Gb/s HBA will be available early next year, timed with the rollout of Intel's PCI Express technology enabled processor platforms. LSI Logic also plans a line of PCI Express Ultra320 SCSI HBA solutions and recently announced the launch of the industry's first dual-channel Ultra320 SCSI PCI Express RAID solution.

Intel Corporation introduced the Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100A network connection for notebook PCs based on Intel® Centrino™ mobile technology. The Intel PRO/Wireless 2100A network connection adds higher speed 802.11a capability to Intel Centrino mobile technology, which currently features 802.11b wireless functionality.

Seagate introduced the world's first hard drive to store 100 Gbytes of data on a single 3.5-inch platter.
