The integration between Seagate Exos CORVAULT and OSNexus QuantaStor offers exciting opportunities for scale-up and scale-out cluster configurations. With this partnership, storage solutions can now incorporate two layers of erasure coding, with CORVAULT providing the first layer and QuantaStor the second. Moreover, QuantaStor takes on the task of monitoring CORVAULT systems, providing distributed management and alerting capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Exos CORVAULT by Seagate is a top-of-the-line storage array complete with Seagate’s most extensive enterprise disk drives. Featuring Seagate’s ADAPT technology and Autonomous Drive Regeneration (ADR), CORVAULT guarantees the best performance and reliability<\/strong>. QuantaStor integration with CORVAULT presents logical disk groups, providing hardware-based erasure coding data protection. This feature significantly reduces server CPU resources required to run QuantaStor by 50% compared to using JBODs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

QuantaStor utilizes the VelosCT\u2122 ASIC-based ADAPT erasure coding feature that comes with CORVAULT to enhance system performance and make maintenance easier. This technology speeds up drive rebuilds within each CORVAULT storage array, eliminating any network disk rebuild traffic and minimizing backend system pressure. Additionally, QuantaStor introduces an extra layer of erasure coding between CORVAULT systems, which boosts system data durability by up to an impressive 14 9’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration between QuantaStor Scale-out and Seagate Exos CORVAULT in implementing JBOD provides significant advantages. This includes reducing server CPU and RAM requirements by 50%, decreasing maintenance by 50% with ADAPT+ADR, lowering OSNexus software license costs by 10%, and improving data durability from 99.999% to an impressive 99.999999999999%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
