Each RAID subsystem delivers an unbeatable 26 streams of 8-bit uncompressed standard definition video and supports capacities up to 24TB per configuration, starting at just $1.12 per gigabyte.<\/STRONG><\/P>&#13;&#10;<P>&ldquo;Promise Technology is very pleased to offer our popular VTrak E-Class RAID subsystems to <STRONG>Apple<\/STRONG> customers,&rdquo; said <STRONG><EM>Sam Sirisena<\/EM><\/STRONG>, general manager of Promise&rsquo;s Advanced Storage Group. &ldquo;We&rsquo;re setting a new standard for RAID solutions in performance and pricing for Xsan 2 and Final Cut Pro users with dual redundant active\/active controllers, 4 Gb Fibre Channel to the host, support for SAS and SATA hard drives, fully redundant components and improved scalability at just over $1 per gigabyte.&rdquo;<\/P>&#13;&#10;<P><IMG alt='Promise Technology VTrack' hspace='10' align='left' src='\/attach\/get\/20080225101030634400000000.jpg'>Each <STRONG>VTrak RAID 3U<\/STRONG> subsystem supports up to 16 integrated 3.5-inch SATA or SAS drives and an expansion chassis that can deliver another 16 SATA or SAS drives, for capacities up to 24TB per configuration. Demanding Final Cut Pro and Xsan installations will benefit from dual redundant active-active, failover\/failback RAID controllers, 4Gb Fibre Channel connections to the host, RAID 5 and RAID 6 support, along with global and dedicated hot spare hard drives, setting a new standard for RAID performance and data protection.<\/P>&#13;&#10;<P>The VTrak E-Class RAID subsystem delivers outstanding performance for general server and video storage workloads, reaching up to 1400MB\/s of sequential read performance and 617MB\/s of sequential write performance in a <STRONG>RAID 5<\/STRONG> configuration with redundant controllers. When configured with Apple&apos;s Xsan 2 clustered file system and Final Cut Studio 2 video suite, the 32-drive Vtrak subsystem delivers up to 6 streams of 8-bit uncompressed high definition video, 22 streams of ProRes HQ compressed HD video and 26 streams of 8-bit uncompressed SD video.<\/P>&#13;&#10;<P>All system components in this enterprise-class, cable-less subsystem can be monitored through Promise&rsquo;s WebPAM PROe management suite to ensure continuous operation in case of failure or component malfunction.
