{"id":10195,"date":"2026-05-25T09:25:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-25T09:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/news.asbis.com\/news\/?p=10195"},"modified":"2026-05-25T09:25:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-25T09:25:13","slug":"ai-infrastructure-boom-reshapes-middle-east-technology-landscape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/news.asbis.com\/news\/press\/ai-infrastructure-boom-reshapes-middle-east-technology-landscape\/","title":{"rendered":"AI Infrastructure Boom Reshapes Middle East Technology Landscape"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a recent interview, Hesham Tantawi, Vice President at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asbisme.ae\/\">ASBIS Middle East<\/a>, outlined the major trends driving the rapid transformation of AI infrastructure across the Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Mr. Tantawi, the market is currently being shaped by three key developments: the accelerated growth of AI-ready data centers and \u201cAI factories,\u201d the industry-wide shift toward open and customizable infrastructure architectures, and rapidly increasing demand for enterprise storage driven by hyperscalers and sovereign AI initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<em>The distribution landscape is changing significantly<\/em>,\u201d said Tantawi. \u201c<em>While ASBIS has always been a volume-focused distributor, today the volume itself has shifted toward data center infrastructure, enterprise servers, AI systems, and large-scale computing environments.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As governments, enterprises, and cloud providers continue investing in localized AI ecosystems, demand is rising across the entire infrastructure stack, including CPUs, GPUs, SSDs, enterprise storage, and high-performance servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most significant market shifts identified by Tantawi is the emergence of \u201cAI factories\u201d \u2014 dedicated environments built specifically to support compute-intensive AI workloads and next-generation enterprise applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c<em>Governments and enterprises are now actively building their own AI engines and environments internally<\/em>,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ASBIS continues to strengthen its position within the AI infrastructure ecosystem through partnerships with leading technology vendors including NVIDIA, AMD, Intel, Micron, Seagate, Toshiba, and Supermicro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tantawi also highlighted a broader transition away from traditional OEM-centric infrastructure models toward more flexible and customizable environments, where enterprises increasingly source components directly to optimize systems for their own workloads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTwo years ago, people were demanding servers from many original manufacturers. Today they are moving toward more open sources,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, the interview underscored mounting pressure on the global enterprise storage market.
