ASBIS announces termination of distribution agreement with Maxtor

ASBIS, a leading supplier of computer components to the EMEA emerging markets, announced today that it will terminate distribution agreement with Maxtor.

ASBIS management and Maxtor European management have agreed to stop direct relationship, but both parties will continue to work together providing end-customers with warranty services for Maxtor products distributed by ASBIS.

According to Laurent Journoud, ASBIS’ VP of Sales & Marketing, “this not-easy decision has been taken because ASBIS simply could not support Maxtor product line due to very low profitability and increased after sales service cost. We also have general disagreement with Maxtor channel policy, specially, with the increased number of its distributors in EMEA emerging markets over the last twelve months.”
