Point of View, ASBIS find common ground in ME
Netherlands-based media tablet and graphics card vendor Point of View, has appointed Asbis Middle East as its authorised distributor for the Middle East region.
In terms of the agreement, Asbis will provide the Middle East channel with Point of View's 7- and 10-inch tablet array, and the graphics card portfolio. According to Point of View, Asbis' appointment is part of a plan to grow its presence in the Middle East market.
The Netherlands headquartered company says the move to go with Asbis is motivated by the fact that the distributor has an established track record in the graphics and media tablet segment in the region.
Najib Nesrini, sales director, Point of View Middle East, said the company has decided to partner with Asbis because the two companies have got common ground in how to develop and grow business in the Middle East region. Nesrini said Asbis brings to the table the value-add that matches the profile of Point of View. "Asbis' business strategy in the Middle East appeals so much to our business orientation and this is evident and reflects the achievements they have attained here," he noted.
Asbis brings to the table the value-add that matches Point of View's, says Nesrini.
Nesrini added that the tablet range is targeted at the education sector while the graphics card range is suited for the gaming and system builder channel. "We are confident that Asbis will open up new opportunities for us and together we will grow the brand and footprint in the region," he said.
He pointed out that market and channel development are crucial if Point of View is to make any headway and the company will be providing market development funds to Asbis.
Hesham Tantawi, vice president, Asbis Middle East, Turkey and Africa (META) region, said the company is happy to have partnered with Point of View as this alliance opens up new business avenues for both companies and the channel.
Tantawi said addition of Point of View's products not only complements the existing product portfolio that Asbis has but also strengthens the company's offerings to the channel.
